Privacy Policy

The privacy of our clients is important to Lakeview Animal Clinic. We collect personal, identifiable information (name, e-mail address, physical address, and other unique identifiers) only if specifically and knowingly provided by you. All of the information you provide is kept completely confidential.

Appointments

Patients are seen by appointment only. When calling for an appointment, please indicate how your pet is feeling and if it is having health problems. We ask that you arrive at 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment.

Registration

A permanent health record of your pet is created from information you provided on your first visit. Checkup reminders are sent to each patient in order to assure that your dog or cat stays healthy.

Fees

All charges will be explained before we treat your pet. Payment is due upon the rendering of services. We accept Cash, and Major Credit Cards.

Sending Records

If records are requested we will send them to you-the owner’s email. Then you will have a permanent record of your pet, and will have the option to share it with who you’d like. In order to be more environmentally friendly, we do not have the option to fax.

 

Pet Pharmacy Prescription Orders

Dr. Anna Schwister has put into place certain policies concerning online pharmacies, because online pet pharmacies are not regulated the way human pharmacies are. There is an increased risk of getting fraudulent or returned medications for your pet. We have no quality control over medications dispensed via online pharmacies.  It is common practice for online pharmacies to use repackaged products, returned medications and outsourced resources from outside of the US.

All medications recommended by our clinic have the best interest of your pet in mind.  A box of Heartgard or a bag of food may seem easy enough to “fill” but there is quite a bit of behind the scene action that needs to happen first!  Before filling any medication (including food), our staff goes through several steps to ensure accuracy of the requested prescription for your pet.

We try to keep our price for heartworm and flea/tick medications competitive. The manufacturer of products like Heartgard, Bravecto, Royal Canin and Hills will not guarantee their product if not purchased through our clinic.

We no longer validate any prescription requests from online pharmacies. We will be happy to provide a written prescription for medications that can then be used to obtain your desired medications. The written prescription can be completed at the time of appointment or picked up at your convenience.  No prescriptions will be faxed, mailed or emailed.

This policy was put into place because the standard of care we would like to provide may not be possible with medications purchased online. We have your pets best interest in mind and want the same quality products as we would give our own pets.  Thank you for trusting in us with your pet care.
