Fleas and Ticks in the Winter?

Strange topic for January? I found a tick on my dogs ear last week. I could not believe it. I immediately treated him with a dose of FRONTLINE Plus. We recommend FRONTLINE Plus for treating and preventing fleas and ticks (all winter long). Fleas can live in the house and on rabbits, squirrels and other critters living outside. Deer and other animals can also carry ticks. Ticks can be active on any warm day, year round (a tick will bite and feed on a warm day in February).

Fleas and ticks are more than just a nuisance. Dogs and cats and be allergic to the flea saliva. They can scratch and bite at themselves causing hairloss and infection. Fleas can also carry tapeworms that can be transmitted to our pets. Ticks carry Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and about 12-15 other tick-borne diseases.

FRONTLINE Plus kills 100% of fleas within 12 hours of application and continues to provide fast-acting, long-lasting flea and tick control. FRONTLINE Plus also breaks the flea life cycle to prevent future infestations. When you apply it, fipronil, the active ingredient, is stored in the oil glands under your pet’s skin. It is then distributed continuously to the skin and hair of your pet through the hair follicles.

Trust me I will not miss another monthly dose of FRONTLINE Plus on my dog.
